Join your Colorado career development colleagues at the 11th Annual Best Practices in Career Development Conference. The conference will be held November 2, 2012 at the Plaza Hotel in Longmont, Colorado.

The fall conference is designed for CCDA members and affiliates to share ideas and knowledge while providing a professional development and networking opportunity.

We will have President of NCDA, Rich Feller as our opening Keynote and Daniel Seddiqui, author of "50 Jobs in 50 States." He will share his story of how, as a recent college graduate he turned a failed job search into an opportunity. He decided to spend fifty weeks, working fifty different jobs (paid or unpaid), one in each state, in the industry most commonly associated with each.

This year, the focus will be best practices around using assessments to guide clients into a new career including:

Overview of the CareerLeader assessment for business students and mid-career business professionals. (Jennifer Vancil)

Assessment on a budget: The best free and inexpensive ways to assess. (Nena Davis)

What now? Reinventing yourself at midlife. (Darlene Garcia)

Creating a personal strengths statement using the VIA Strengths Assessment. (Linda Sollars and Linda Faucheux)

Using the Emotional Intelligence 2.0 assessment as an effective career development tool. (Kate Culligan)

Using assessments with young adults. (Anne Angerman)

Applying StrengthsQuest with students on a college campus. (Cori Shaff)

College in Colorado: Free comprehensive career planning tools for postsecondary students and adults in transition. (Shelby Kiernan)

The possible selves career interview: Images in career development. (Leann Morgan)

Leveraging your strengths and talents. (Mary Ann Looby)
